LidAndSeek Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
LidAndSeek is an app for keeping track of what you have stored in boxes, tubs, and bins. It is published by Risei Enterprises LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your inventory belongs to you, it lives on your devices and in your own iCloud account, and we never see it.
What the app stores
- The locations, containers, and items you create, including names, notes, quantities, and any photos you take or choose.
- Label codes you print or link to containers, and the contents you write to NFC tags.
- Your app preferences (for example, whether Smart Naming is on).
Where it is stored
Everything is stored on your device. If you are signed into iCloud, the app also keeps a copy in your private iCloud database so it syncs to your other devices and survives a lost or replaced phone. That database is part of your Apple Account: it is encrypted by Apple, visible only to you, and not accessible to us. Signing out of iCloud removes the synced copy from that device.
What we collect
Nothing. LidAndSeek has no accounts, no servers of its own, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits. We do not receive your inventory, your photos, or any identifier for you or your device.
Camera, photos, and NFC
- The camera is used to scan container labels and to photograph items.
- Photos you choose from your library are copied into your inventory.
- NFC is used only to read and write the container label tags you choose to use.
None of this leaves your device except through your own iCloud sync.
Smart Naming (Apple Intelligence and Vision)
When Smart Naming is on, the app suggests item names from your photos. Analysis runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework and, on supported devices, Apple Intelligence. Photos are never sent to us or to any naming service. You can turn Smart Naming off in Settings.
Siri and widgets
The "Find Item" Siri shortcut and the home-screen widget read your inventory on the device to answer you. Siri processing follows Apple's own privacy practices; the app does not transmit anything.
Children
LidAndSeek is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
